A specially designed poster and innovative social media campaign from Wrendale Designs and Laura Sherratt Designs respectively are among the supportive initiatives different card publishers are putting in place to support greeting card retailers as they ready to re-open.
Wrendale Designs has created a cute poster for its retail stockists that they can use in their windows or instore to give reassurance to their customers that the shop is fully compliant with the Covid-19 requirements, plus reminding them to keep socially distanced while they shop.
The Wrendale Designs’ poster, which is being sent out to stockists, makes good use of a wonderful illustration of two guinea pigs, in Hannah Dale’s distinctive style to encourage adherence to the 2-metre social distanced requirement.
(As previously reported on PG Buzz, Five Dollar Shake has also developed several Covid-appropriate PoS items https://www.pgbuzz.net/card-shops-disappointment-at-later-reopening-date-as-many-were-ready/)
In addition, the company is also offering free shipping to retail customers for the whole month of June, with no minimum order requirement.
Commenting, Lisa Marcuccio, head of sales at Wrendale told PG Buzz: “We feel it is important to support retailers as much as possible as they get back on their feet. The poster and free shipping are gestures in this direction.”
Wrendale has continued to supply online retailers throughout lockdown, with Lisa revealing how many of its products connected to cooking or ‘growing your own’ have done very well. “Many people seem to have been baking and eating their way through lockdown!” she quips.
The ever innovative Laura Sherratt, founder of greeting card publishing company Laura Sherratt Designs has created a new hashtag #happinessismyhighstreet and Instagram challenge to coincide with the run up to many card and gift shops re-opening on June 15.
“I was only too aware that we all need a bit of support right now as shops start to reopen on the 15th, meaning lots of us publishers also go back to work in a very different world. So, it’s a big and scary time for us all!” sums up Laura.
Today marks the start of a week-long #happinessismyhighstreet Instagram challenge whereby Laura has set a new challenge for every day that she hope everyone everyone to get involved and start sharing it on social media channels.
Among the prompts are for people to share their favourite shop, their best lockdown purchases and the first thing you’d like to buy when they reopen.
