While tonight (October 3) sees Windles, Loxleys and The Sherwood Group presenting trophies to the winners of The Henries (as they are all sponsors of the event) in a few weeks time it will be their turn for the nail-biting wait to see if they have won a top industry accolade.
The winners of the prestigious PrintWeek Awards are unveiled on October 21. Windles is in the finals in three categories, The Sherwood Group is in two and Loxleys is also feted in one.
“We are thrilled to have reached the finals in three categories of the PrintWeek Awards this year,” commented Michelle Mills, business development and marketing manager of Windles told PG Buzz. The Oxon-based company, which prints for many card publishers is a contender in the Environmental Company of the Year, Social Stationery of the Year and Customer Service Team of the Year awards. Michelle says that reaching the finals in the Environmental Company of the Year category is especially significant as it is further reinforcement of the company’s programme of improvements and initiatives on the environmental front. These include “a significant reduction in Co2 emissions, recycling and waste management schemes, the initiation of Kard Klasp™, reducing the amount of single use plastic consumption from our factory, the successful conversion of publishers switching their GC1 board to a British made product Incada Silk, adoption of biodegradable Enviro-Flitter on greeting cards and more.”
The Sherwood Group is in the finals in the FMCG Packaging Printer of the Year category reflecting all its development work, including on the eco-front.
Loxleys, The Sherwood Group and Windles are all contenders for the Social Stationery Printer of the Year which has seem them submit samples of greeting cards they have each produced to win over the judges. The PrintWeek Awards are judged by leading print buyers and independent experts from brands including Burberry, The National Gallery, Sainsbury’s Argos, Sky, Tesco, Toyota and Waitrose who have cast their eyes over hundreds of submissions to come up with what they believe represents the very best the UK print industry has to offer.
