As part of this, pre-empting that the Autumn trade fairs would be unable to take place, Widdop and Co. has taken to the road to visit the company’s retail customers in the South West and South East, with a 450 sq ft mobile socially-distancedshowroom showcasing some of the 700+ new products (across 14 key product launches) that have just been launched, along with a full range of catalogues and digital materials.

“What a great idea, bringing Widdop to see the customers, in this very difficult time,” exclaimed a very impressed Richard Thomas and Maria Loureda from Llaneli-based Gilded Lili after a visit to the first roadshow stop, in Swansea last week. “We’ve been here an hour and a half and it was fascinating. Lots of new ideas, some real little gems, and lots of information.”

The showroom also visited Bristol, Launceston, Newton Abbot and West Grinstead last week with retailers rocking up for their safe pre-booked appointments. Now, having been in Dartford yesterday, today (Tuesday 6 October) sees it already in action in Romford, before heading to Bushey tomorrow (Wednesday October 7); Thetford the day after (Thursday October 8) ending in Barton Le Clay on Friday (October 9). Gourmet food and refreshments are being provided by local restaurants.

“The roadshows mean that we can safely meet our customers and show our new launches, giving our retail customers even more flexibility as they juggle running their businesses day to day in the new environment,” explained Widdop’s creative director Stephen Illingworth.

As well as a whole new range of Brightside gifts (having taken over the distribution from Really Good), another of the company’s signature product launches this Autumn is Cheerfull by Celebrations, an encouraging impulse gift range, sales of which supports the NHS Charities Together programme with a 7% donation made on all purchases.
