Tonight’s the night (October 5) when the winners of The Henries 2017 greeting card industry awards will be revealed – at a Parisian-themed lavish event at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, in London.
Organised by Progressive Greetings, with huge support from leading industry suppliers and retailers as sponsors, The Henries 2017 look set to be ‘magnifique’!
The Eiffel Tower has even been transported over from Paris while Vive la France (the celebrated accordion and clarinet duo) will welcome the 700 members of the greeting card community.
The anticipation has been building for months since the finalists were announced in August, with ranges from publishers of all shapes and sizes forming the veritable line-up of finalists, all of which were selected by the largest ever judging panel made up of over 50 retail buyers.
Although The Henries awards are for publishers’ ranges as well as categories for service, there to witness the which collections are deemed the best in the west will be buyers from including, Paperchase, WHSmith, Tesco, House of Cards, Sainsbury’s, Card Factory, Funky Pigeon, Postmark and Co-op.

Hosting the The Henries tonight is comedian John Robbins (fresh from his award winning Edinburgh Festival show) with live band, The Lionels providing a good excuse for everyone to hit the dancefloor afterwards.
“Adding to the fun, House of Cards has sponsored a Magic Mirror photobooth as well as the Higher or Lower competition, plus there will be French props galore to ensure an ‘Arc de Triomphe’ of a night,” revealed Warren Lomax, joint md of Max Publishing, which owns PG and The Henries.
The Twitter feed – #Henries17 – is bound to be super busy – with PG Buzz offering a prize of a bottle of champagne for the best post in the run up, during and after the event!
The evening will also see considerable sums being raised for The Light Fund, the industrywide charity that helps thousands of men, women and children.
