US publisher Designer Greetings acquires Madison Park Greetings

Major US publisher, Designer Greetings has bolstered its market position by acquiring upmarket greeting card brand, Madison Park Greetings.

Founded in 1982, New Jersey-based family-owned Designer Greetings has been actively acquisitive since 2006, and with Madison Park being its eighth acquisition over the last 12 years. Its other purchases include Card$mart, Glitterwrap, Red Farm Studio, Royal Greetings, Treasure Greetings and Mike’s Distributing.

Seattle-based Madison Park Greetings was founded in 1977 by artist Judi Jacobsen, built up a good reputation for its cards and journals featuring the work of many artists over the years.

Steve Gimbelman, ceo and president of Designer Greetings described Madison Park Greetings as a great fit for the company. “Designer Greetings has always had a tradition of finding the best contemporary artists and blending their artistic vision with editorial that connects with the end consumer.”

With more than 22,000 designs within its portfolio, Designer Greetings is already one of the US’ largest card publishing concerns.
