The Henries entry deadline extended to 22 June

You now have an extra week to enter the greetings industry’s top awards

Fancy winning one of the greetings industry’s top awards? Then get entering The Henries 2022 – and the good news is that the deadline has been extended for a week!

Publishers and UK distributors now have until midnight on Wednesday, 22 June, to submit their designs via the portal on The Henries website where they can choose from the award categories which span the whole gamut of greeting cards, from humour to cute, art to children’s, and Christmas to sentiment – plus, introduced last year, the Best Diversity & Inclusion Range category that’s sponsored by the GCA.

Remember, for the first time, there is a two-stage judging process this year with the initial judging stage taking place entirely online involving an extensive panel of retail buyers from across the spectrum – including specialist multiples, design-led independents, small groups, department store selectors and supermarket buyers – who will be invited to judge at least six categories each.

Henries deadline pic 2From the online votes, a shortlist of contenders will be arrived at, and the publishers of these shortlisted ranges will be asked to submit physical card samples which will then be mounted on boards for the live judging round, again to be judged entirely by retailers whose votes will decide the finalists and winner in all product categories along with the Best Young Designer.

Although the deadline has been moved forward by a week – don’t worry if it’s not yet showing as 22 June on the website, this will be updated shortly – submissions should still be for card ranges that have been launched at retail between 15 June, 2021, and 15 June, 2022, or for new designs to an existing collection launched within the same period.

In the Best Spring Seasons Range category, for the 2022 awards only, the knock-on effects of the pandemic are being taken into account so there’s a two-year window to accommodate publishers who carried forward Spring Seasons ranges.

Therefore, all Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter and Father’s Day greeting card ranges that have been launched into UK retail (bricks and mortar and/or online) between 15 June, 2020, and 15 June, 2022, qualify for entry. Entries for this category should be event-specific, ie publishers should submit a separate entry for Valentine’s Day, a separate entry for Mother’s Day, etc.

Entering product into the awards is simple via the website, and completely free of charge. Just head to the website, create your account in less than a minute, and begin entering your fabulous greeting card designs. You can start and stop, giving you a chance to slowly upload entries as you have time, helped, of course, by the week-long extension to the original deadline. Check out the instructions below.
