Tesco has joined forces with Carte Blanche to make Mother’s Day memorable, with a competition offering customers the chance to win a fabulous spa break being run in 443 of the supermarket’s stores. The completion, which has already attracted approaching 1,500 entries, is being promoted (with PoS and stickers) across not on the publisher’s greeting card, stationery and gift products, but also on the Me to You apparel, cakes, jewellery, cushions, food gift sets from licensees that are on sale in Tesco.
Further heightening the Me to You brand’s awareness in store, on top of the ‘pn shelf’ presence, a cross category FSDU encompassing Carte Blanche’s greeting cards, plush, gifts, stationery, mugs and giftbags positioned in the high traffic ‘power aisle’ of the stores.
After the success of Carte Blanche Group’s recent Valentine’s Day competition with Tesco, the company is now running a Mother’s Day competition in 443 Tesco stores to win a £500 spa day.
This marketing activity and the consumer engagement comes hot on the heels of the successful competition Carte Blanche ran with Tesco for Valentine’s Day which offered a trip to Paris as the prize.
Commenting on the current Mother’s Day promotion, CBG’s trade marketing manager Julia Andrews said: “We have put a lot of focus into this with stickers advertising the competition on all gift, F&F apparel, cakes, plush and cards.” She adds that “With the cross category FSDU in the power aisle (which also features the url), it really cannot be missed.”
The Me to You gift product on sale in Tesco includes plush, cushions, a mum & daughter jewellery set, stationery set and some food gifting items, (supplied by licensee Kimm & Miller) as well as some exclusive F&F nightwear all of which has been promoted across social media channels.
“Me to You is a key brand for this season and we are really pleased that we can provide such a special treat to a lovely mum out there! With a few days still to go, there have already been over 1,400 entries,” says Julia. “We saw a huge surge in traffic in last few days in the run up to Valentine’s competition, so we anticipate the same with Mother’s Day.”
