Greeting card publisher Tache is wagging its tail in the direction of charities, but there is a lot more to come yet.
In what is the inaugural official tie-up with charities, the Poole-based business, co-owned by Pennie Bryant and Frank Nicholls, has announced a collaboration with Instagram famous, Alfie the Pug in order to raise funds for two charities, Pets As Therapy and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity through the sale of some of greeting cards.
Alfie isn’t your average pug, he’s a therapy pet who make children in hospital feel better, helped by his sweet nature and amazing wardrobe. Alfie’s owner Suzy Emsden, also a consultant at North West & North Wales Paediatric Transport Service, takes Alfie to visit children at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
“Alfie passed his Pets as Therapy training when he was 18 months old, and from then on he has visited children in various hospitals and wards, from intensive care to physiotherapy. He even visited children who were hospitalised because of the Manchester Arena attack, and he is still in touch with some of them now,” explains Suzy.
In dedication to this amazing duo, the Tache team designed some ‘Alfie’ cards depicting Alfie in some of his amazing costumes his with 100% of the profits their sale being split between the two charities selected by Suzy (with barks of approval from Alfie, of course).
In addition to being on sale to Tache’s retail customers, the publisher is also extending a
a personalisation option for the inside and outside of the cards for its direct to consumers from its newly designed website (https://www.tache.co.uk/). The personalised cards, handmade in the UK are selling for £3.99.
For Pennie and Frank, the tie-up with Alfie, Pets As Therapy and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity marks a significant development in the company’s journey, with several more charitable initiatives also in the pipeline.
“When Frank and I started Tache it was always our dream that we would build in a charitable element working once we became established enough. The current pandemic situation has been trying for us all and has also really hit charities hard with the lack of fundraising events and initiatives, so we feel the time is right for us to do our bit to help those less fortunate than ourselves,” says Pennie, hinting that two more charity collaborations are already “pretty fair down” the pipeline.
