Indie retailers around the country ordering from the new Studio by Gemma range by Gemma International are receiving a surprise as their stock arrives.
Not only do the first wave of orders contain a celebratory bottle of prosecco to christen the company’s new division, but they also contain a Just a Card window decal sticker, part of the nationwide campaign (instigated by artist Sarah Hamilton) to encourage consumers to buy at least ‘Just a Card’ from independent retailers and makers.
As Amanda Parkin, managing director at Gemma told PG Buzz: “As soon as I heard about the Just a Card campaign it really struck a chord as being such a great idea; so selflessly initiated and endlessly championed by Sarah Hamilton.”
Elaborating as to why Gemma has got on board and purchased window stickers on behalf of its independent retailer customers, Amanda said: “Our company’s roots are as an independent retailer, my parents started this business as independent retailers. If we can help to promote this campaign we are also helping our customers in what can be quite a tough climate, well that just makes good sense.”
Amanda and the team are delighted that the first orders of the new Studio by Gemma range, first seen at PG Live in June are now making their way out to premium indie retailers. The first Studio by Gemma collection comprises 72 designs across seven initial licences.
As Amanda added:“We are so excited the first orders, some customers have waited patiently since PG Live in June and we wanted to show our thanks for their commitment to Studio by Gemma, and well, what better way to show that appreciation than with a bottle of fizz?”
The Studio by Gemma range will be on show at Autumn Fair (2 – 5 September) in Hall 4 on stand 4D40-F41.
