Studio by Gemma is a brand new greeting card division from Gemma International with a product portfolio that has been curated specifically for independents, premium gift shops and upmarket non-specialists.
While drawing on the publisher’s expertise in the licensing field, the Studio by Gemma collection includes new signings for the publisher, such as Guess How Much I Love You and Moomins or will feature a different upmarket design treatment. This is evidenced in a vintage look for Thomas the Tank Engine which harks back to the Reverend W Awdry books, an on trend botanical look from Natural History Museum for adults as well as a cross-generational treatment for Mr Men.
The new brand will officially launch at PG Live next month (June 5 and 6 at London’s Business Design Centre) at which the company’s stand will be totally dedicated to Studio by Gemma. It is to be sold to independents via a team of agents with Jo Bannister and Joanna McFarlane already on board to represent the brand in the London area.
Amanda Parkin, managing director of Gemma, who has spearheaded the creation of the new entity told PG Buzz: “Studio by Gemma portfolio has a very different look that will really appeal to independents and premium retailers. And, for first time, we are supplying them in 3s, not 6s to encourage retailers to order across the range.”
Studio by Gemma is debuting with 88 designs with more to follow, including nursery and juvenile captions as well as adult relations and occasions. Phase two will include taking the new brand into gift packaging and seasonal products.
All printed in the UK on premium board, featuring subtle finishes, the cards can be supplied unwrapped or wrapped, dispatched direct from Gemma’s Andover premises.
