Noel Tatt licenses cute range from Simson Cards thanks to PG Live meet-up
A cute smudge and gold foil have cemented the long-term relationship between Noel Tatt Group and Simson Cards in Australia thanks to a new licensing deal – and PG Live.
Smudge is the brainchild of Aussie artist Julie Kluwer, a designer with in the creative studio at the publisher and distributor run by John ‘Simo’ Simson and wife Bindi and was featured on their stand at PG Live last summer.
“They’ve been buying product from us for a while,” Noel Tatt md Jarle Tatt told PG Buzz, “and they were exhibiting with a view to distribution – we expressed an interest in Smudge which is now on a licensing agreement and so far so good!
“It’s been selling well since the launch, we’ve gone for the foiled envelopes which is a first for us, and the new home card is now one of our top sellers.
“It’s interesting because they didn’t have a new home design in the range and we asked them to design one – now Simson is looking to take it back to Australia too as it’s doing so well.”
There are currently 20 designs in the collection plus a trio of Christmas cards, all finished with matt gold foil to match the envelopes, and Jarle said he’s looking to increase the range already as it’s proven popular.
Smudge was among the numerous new designs shown at Spring Fair last week by the family-run business which has just celebrated its 70th anniversary after being started by Jarle’s father Noel in 1953, and the founder marked his own 94th birthday on 30 January by checking out the company product displayed in Paydens Pharmacies in Cheriton.
