Get on down to Islington to indulge your love of pens, pencils and notebooks
It’s that time of year for all notebook, pen and pencil lovers to get on down to the Business Design Centre in Islington where the London Stationery Show throws open its doors in just six days’ time.
As the only UK event dedicated to the paper and writing instruments industry, retailers and brands come together for the two-day trade show, which has returned to its spring dateline – Tuesday and Wednesday, May 17-18.
Run by Ocean Media Group, the exhibition’s set to bring together hundreds of independent and household name stationery brands, allowing retailers to see, touch and test products – a key factor when deciding what to stock in store.
The 2022 event will also include several features, such as Indie Matters Business Advice Clinics which will give retailers the opportunity to sit down with an industry expert in a one-to-one session for advice on marketing, social media, sales strategy, and financial planning.
The Retail Matters programme has been conceived to support retailers in all aspects of running a successful business through live talks with leading industry professionals and successful peers. With topics such as creative content strategy, sales techniques for independent retailers, how to sell on Instagram, and mastering PR. The full programme is here.
Creative Matters try before you buy workshops will be hosted by exhibitors, allowing for hands on experience of the products you’re looking to stock in store. Develop an understanding of how to get the most from your chosen products, and gain ideas to take away and use to attract customers to your store. The full workshop list is here.
Among the almost 200 brands that can be seen at the show are Campo Marzio (stand M212), Manuscript Pens (stand M210 & M212), and new eco-brand Coffeenotes (stand G200), as well as the five winners of the LaunchPad competition for new stationery suppliers looking to break into the dynamic, design-led stationery market – Gabi & Gaby, Okey Dokey Design, Sister Paper Co, Susannah Bleasby Fine Art and The Notes Guide.
