This year in June Cardgains retail members, publishers and gift suppliers and supporters will be tackling two stages of the Cumbria Way to raise money for Cardgains’ charity of the year – the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MDNA).
The quirkily named, ‘Kumbaya Cumbria Challenge’ will take in a 27.5 mile route between Ulverston and Dungeon Ghyll which goes through part of the beautiful Lake District and offers some fantastic scenery and the chance to explore this amazing national park.
“Since we started our challenges in 1999 we have raised almost £300,000 so a huge thank you to everyone who has been involved,” says Penny Shaw, marketing director for Cardgains. “Once again, we’re setting an ambitious target of £12,000 for MNDA.”
Last year 29 walkers took part in 2017 challenge, entitled the Seaside Shuffle, which helped to raise £20,000 for Guide Dogs. “We’re hoping even more people will sign up this year and get their walking boots on,” says Penny. “Cumbria is a beautiful part of the country and we’re very much looking forward to getting there and raising as much money as we can for a very worthy cause.”
The Kumbaya Cumbria challenge will take place on Thursday 21 June. If you would like more information, please email kerry@bridewelluk.co.uk
