Publishers invited to pop up at John Lewis

Card companies can apply to feature in major department store’s Christmas shop opportunity

Publishers who fancy a pop-up shop inside John Lewis now have the chance to apply, thanks to the Great Brand Exchange.

The organisation helps SME brands get a foot in the door at major retailers like the department store chain and its grocery sister Waitrose, as well as Harvey Nichols and Boots.

And it’s currently looking for brands for its 2023 programme as well as the Christmas-specific pop-ups in 30 John Lewis stores across the country.

Christmas wrappings, both in-store and for at home, is one of the products and services being sought for the festive event, with Great Brand Exchange saying: “If you’re a small business owner looking to make the most of the festive season, consider hosting a pop-up shop in John Lewis.

“With the right location, design, and marketing, it can be a great way to attract new customers, showcase your products, and build relationships. Plus, it can be a lot of fun!

“To apply to host a pop-up shop click on the link and register your business. We will be reviewing each application individually so please bear with us! There is an approval process with the retailers which can take some time.”

Other products sought include decorations, personalised products, Christmas gifts, festive food and drink, festive dress-up, and children’s products.

Roshah Designs took part in the 2022 pop-up shop event at John Lewis in Manchester’s Trafford Centre, where owner Robina Shah showcased her cultural and ethnic greeting cards and giftwrap for a week in December, along with her hand-embellished gift socks – admitting she was “shattered” at how busy it was in store.
