Last few places available for GCA Speed Dating event with how-to-prepare Zoom meeting
There are just a few places left for the imminent GCA Dragons Speed Dating event – so sign up now if you want to get your cards in front of John Lewis’ new card buyer as well as Paperchase, Funky Pigeon and a host of indie retailers too.
With the 23 March event fast approaching, the GCA is busy getting ready with a how-to-prepare Zoom meeting next Thursday, 24 February, at 11am when Dragon Sally Matson, owner of Red Card, Petworth, will be among those sharing their expertise of how to make the most of the speed dating event.
Led by GCA ceo Amanda Fergusson, with GCA council members Carolyn Verderame from Caroline Gardner and Adriana Lovesy from Mrs Lovesy, the Zoom meeting is particularly recommended for those attending for the first time.
“While all publishers signed up for the event are invited to attend this dedicated Zoom, I strongly urge all those who have never been to one of our speed dating events before to zoom in, enabling them to be better equipped on how to slay the Dragons by picking up top tips on making their pitch, what buyers are looking for as well as making the most of the networking opportunities and panel discussion element,” commented Amanda.
This will be great preparation for the real Dragons event on 23 March, which runs from 12.45-5.30pm at the Business Design Centre in London. John Lewis’ new card buyer Claire Taylor will be one of those looking for publishers to add to its retail offer. Also making her debut as a Dragon is Tori Heath-Smith, Paperchase’s card buyer, with other confirmed retail buyers participating including those from Fortnum & Mason, Cardzone, Postmark, Red Card, Card Factory, Austin & Co Malvern, Diverse, Funky Pigeon, House Of Cards, Mooch Ealing and Presentation Cards & Gifts of Barrowford.
An expert panel – made up of Chris Bryan, GCA president and general manager at Second Nature; Daniel Prince, managing director Danilo; Adriana Lovesy, owner and creative director, Mrs Lovesy; David Falkner, director, Cardology; and Brett Smith, managing director, Emotional Rescue – will also be on hand to discuss current issues and answer questions from publishers.
Dragon’s Speed Dating is a fun way to meet prospective business partners, network with existing business contacts and keep up to date with current industry issues, tickets cost £125+VAT per dating place plus £30 if you wish to bring a colleague to meet the buyers with you.
