Show your cardie allegiance by signing the petition and wearing your heart on your sleeve
Get in quick if you want to grab your Choose Cards t-shirt to wear your heart on your sleeve and support the greeting card industry’s #Cardmitment campaign as the pre-order deadline is coming up fast.
“There’s been a steady stream of pre-orders since Top Drawer,” said Matt Simpson, who runs The Letter Arty indie retailer and card publisher in Manchester and started selling the shirts after his own personal one proved popular.

“The pre orders closes at the end of Friday, 31 January, and I wouldn’t want anyone to miss out after my first limited run was snapped up before Christmas.”
The tees are available to pre-order to minimise waste so all are sold before manufacture, and come in sizes up to XXL on a white shirt with black writing or red with white letters at £24 plus postage.
Matt added: “I’m looking at doing tote bags like the one I had made just for me – and don’t forget to bring your t-shirt along to PG Live in June so we can do an even bigger photo of people as they’re perfect for anyone who loves to make, sell, send or receive greeting cards. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to look super cool in an 80s model-style like me!”

The Choose Cards shirts were inspired by typography fan Matt’s love of the classic 80s Choose Life original, and were much in evidence at Top Drawer in London a couple of weeks ago, being worn with pride as cardies also promoted the GCA’s petition asking for parliamentary scrutiny of any proposal to change the universal service obligation (USO) where Royal Mail must deliver letters six days a week and parcels five days to every address in the UK for the same price.
The petition can be accessed here or via the QR code pictured on the poster designed by Earlybird’s Hannah Sharma, which can also be downloaded here to display in shops and offices, or emailed out to your customer base asking them to sign up to get the 10,000 names needed to force the government to respond to it – and if the total tops 100,000 then it will have to be considered for debate by MPs.
