Postmark debuts Pigment’s Poodle & Blonde range

Owners of luxury interiors brand add to in-store fun for collection launch

Well-known for their much-coveted luxury interiors, counting celebs such as Sophie Ellis-Bexter, Paloma Faith and Jade Jagger among their many fans, the Poodle & Blonde brand has added greeting cards to its claims to fame.

The inaugural range, published under licence by Pigment through its Fox & Butler sub-brand, has recently made its debut in Postmark stores, in advance of the official launch at PG Live over 3-4 June at London’s Business Design Centre.

Bringing their own sense of fun to Postmark’s London Bridge branch on Monday, 31 March, Whinnie Williams and Kierra Campbell ,the duo behind the Poodle & Blonde brand, visited the store to see the cards on display and get behind the counter to shoot some quirky social media content!

And they were joined by Pigment’s creative director Martin Powderly, and Becky Sherwood from Lisle Licensing, who brokered the collab,

“Don’t they look great?” Whinnie said to her business partner Kierra as soon as they set eyes on the cards. “I’m interested to know which designs are the best sellers.”

As Kierra pointed out: “It is lovely that through greeting cards, our designs can play a part in more people’s lives.”

As well as their own ranges which already spans wallpapers, fabrics and furnishings, a number of licensing collaborations with Hillarys Blinds, Haden, Made and Coat has taken the Poodle & Blonde brand on to blinds, small domestic appliances, furniture and paints, plus projects with leading hotels and restaurants.

“Poodle & Blonde fits in perfectly with our Fox & Butler brand,” Martin commented. “I love the vintage appeal of the surface pattern designs that I sensed would translate well onto upmarket cards, and they do!

“We already had a good relationship with Lisle Licensing for our Studio Blom and Lucia Heffernan collections, so this collab further builds on that.”

The venture into greeting cards with Pigment is part of the plan to further expand the Poodle & Blonde’s brand reach on consumer products, with stationery and giftwrappings on the future wish list.

And Leona Janson-Smith, who co-runs Postmark with husband Mark, told PG Buzz: “We’re delighted that Postmark debuted the inaugural Poodle & Blonde collection from Pigment, before the official launch at PG Live.

“The collection adds a point of difference to our selection – and our customers like the designs too, as it jumped into our Top 10 birthday ranges within days of going into store. It was great to have Whinnie and Kierra visiting, and for them to see the cards in the flesh.”

As well as instore, the collection is also being fanfared on the digital screens outside the Postmark shops, with the footage featuring Whinnie’s pet tortoise Shelley transporting a bundle of the cards!
