Products Of Change and Spring & Autumn Fair link up to ‘deliver real education to retailers and suppliers’
Sustainable membership organisation Products Of Change has partnered with Spring & Autumn Fair to create a set of five educational papers to help retailers, greeting card publishers and other companies with their journey to operating more sustainable, ethical, and regenerative businesses.
This significant project is part of Spring & Autumn Fair’s ongoing Power Of One campaign, show organiser the Hyve Group’s umbrella initiative aimed at driving more sustainable and responsible practices across the greetings, home, gift, and fashion retail sectors.
Helena Mansell-Stopher, POC founder and ceo, said: “Education is at the heart of Products Of Change and to get the opportunity to deliver some practical guidelines to the industry through our collaboration with Hyve and help industry navigate the broad topic of sustainability to build action within business through these white papers, is a real privilege. I can’t wait to see how this work is transitioned into business to drive real action.”
Products Of Change’s 500+ membership now includes Danilo, Hallmark, Glick, Out Of The Blue/Into The Green Publishing, Cath Tate Cards, Belly Button Designs, Carousel Calendars, Talking Tables, This Is Iris, The Bright Agency, and Amscan, as well as many other leading brands.
The newly-published POC white papers span five of the fundamental subjects in sustainability starting with Pathway To Sustainability, which showcases how to set business ambitions through the structure of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
There are four further papers – a dive into the Green Claims Code with Navigating The Green Claims Code And Avoiding Greenwashing; insight into the current generation of sustainable shoppers in Consumer Trends, an exploration of the Circular Economy; and Legislation covers the policies, mandates and frameworks to be aware of.
“Products Of Change is proud to partner with Spring & Autumn Fair, which has been driving awareness around sustainability since 2018 with its Power Of One campaign by highlighting that one small action can make a huge impact when adopted at scale across industry,” added Helena.
The papers are available to download here, or POC members can access them here, and the aim is to continue Spring & Autumn Fair’s Power Of One activity by providing businesses with the tools to build, action, and together reduce the collective impact over the next seven to eight years across industry to meet 2030 targets.
Nikki Griffiths, group communications and ESG director at Hyve, added: “Thanks to our partnership with Products Of Change, we can deliver real education to our audience of retailers and suppliers, with which they can begin to build actionable steps as part of a wider strategy to transition towards sustainability and business practices that benefit people and the planet.
“We’re really excited to deliver this first series of white papers through the lens of the expertise at Products Of Change and look forward to seeing the positive change we can all drive across business across the world together.”
POC was headline partner of Spring Fair’s Power Of One campaign when the show took place at Birmingham’s NEC earlier this month. The global educational hub is aimed at driving sustainable change across consumer products markets and beyond, and POC brings together a community of brand owners, retailers, content creators, innovators, manufacturing partners, and marketing experts to learn and connect through the platform.
