International publisher takes on Linnapaperi, and hands over £60k charity donation
International greeting card and product distributor Pictura Group has acquired 80% of the shares in the Finnish company Linnapaperi.
It makes the eighth country for the regular PG Live visitors, which already has a presence in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, France, Poland and USA, with its own design studios in America, France and Sweden.
Headed up by md Charlie Wallin, he has been elected chairman of the board at Linnapaperi, overseeing operations on Pictura’s behalf.
Charlie, who is based in Sweden, said: “We are impressed by Linnapaperi’s performance and proud to establish a relationship with ceo Tapani Linna and creative product director Sanna Linna-Rentto, and the team behind Linnapaperi.
“Pictura and Linnapaperi share the same values and beliefs. Our companies strive to meet our customers’ needs and help them succeed. We look forward to learning more about the Finnish market and ensure that Finnish retailers get the best products on their shelves.”
And Pictura has also been collaborating with Danish charity the Christmas Seal Foundation, which has five homes providing support and safe spaces for children aged seven to 14 who are unhappy due to loneliness, bullying and social isolation.
Through sales of products such as Christmas cards and puzzles and collections with the company’s retail partners, Pictura’s ceo Jens Molzen and product tream manager Lotte Weng were able to hand over the donation of £61,000 (DKK530,307) to the foundation’s director Soren Ravn Jensen.
