Making its debut at PG Live this year is Little Paperie (stand 712). Already an award-winning greeting card and stationery retailer in Ashbourne, Derby, Lucy Sticka and Heidi Richardson have decided to launch their own range of greeting cards and stationery.

“When we opened Little Paperie it was always in our long term plan to branch into publishing,” says Lucy. “Heidi had a little craft shop for five years before we opened Little Paperie and has always illustrated and painted her designs for her cards. I was a knitwear designer for many years and also had a business designing wedding stationery previously too so we have been selling various bits and pieces within the shop that we have developed between us. We thought it was finally time to put all our experience into practice and design our own brand of cards and stationery that we could sell in our shop but also sell to trade.

We have probably found it easier waiting a few years to launch as it has given us knowledge as to what sells well and what areas we can develop on. We get some very strange requests on cards but mainly the areas we struggle to buy are the ones we hope to tap into eventually. We’ve also had the opportunity to visit lots of trade fairs buying which has given us a little insight into what to expect and how much work we need to put in to make sure we try and stand out from the crowd at the show.”
