Party company’s right Royle fun

Northwest Greetings looks after staff well – and signs new deal with Kalisan balloons

It was party time for a party company recently when Britain’s Got Talent star Steve Royle entertained staff and families at Northwest Greetings’ annual wellness weekend.

An important part of the Haydock-based wholesaler’s calendar, the BGT 2020 runner-up provided right royal fun and frolics while the more serious side came from the two speakers, both experts in mental health awareness.

Wayne Singleton gave a speech on how he overcame challenges in his life while taking part in a marathon across the Sahara, and ex-St Helens rugby league star turned State Of Mind Sport presenter Phil Veivers also spoke.

Warehouse supervisor Stevie Mac said: “It’s so refreshing to be appreciated for what we do and to be treated to this amazing weekend away. We’re already looking forward to next year and the challenges it will bring, and our wellness weekend is something we all really look forward to, and use to relax and unwind.”

Northwest Greetings managing director Richard Aylett explained: “My employees are extremely important to me as they are the people who have helped make my business the success it is today, so I feel it’s my responsibility to look after their mental health. This annual weekend gives them all an opportunity to unwind, create a bond and really enjoy themselves.”

As well as fun and health, the business perspective was covered at the same time with Richard also signing on the dotted line to become managing director of the UK arm of Turkish-based balloon company and brand Kalisan, adding another string to his greetings, gift and party wholesale business and The Card House balloon decorating company.

“I’m excited and quite proud,” Richard told PG Buzz. “There are very exciting times ahead for this brand with a new 15,000sq ft distribution centre opening in late March. This will sit quite nicely and complement our other brands, and will add to our growing portfolio.”
