With only the GCSE exam results let to be announced and the holidays draw to a close, so it is key prep time for ‘back to school’. Paperchase has found a ‘purrfect’ way to tap into all this, with the launch of bespoke Hello Kitty products supported by window displays and even a ‘tour’ of the funky feline herself in key stores.
The Paperchase Hello Kitty product range (which spans 75 skus and covers bags, stationery and even sandwich bags) has launched across all UK stores (133 standalone outlets and 26 concessions), as well as in Ireland, Holland, Dubai, Germany, Canada and France.
The range featured in the windows of Paperchase’s flagship stores in Manchester, London and Glasgow.
In addition, Hello Kitty has just completed a tour, visiting Paperchase stores across the UK. These include three locations in London, plus Cardiff, Bristol, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Commenting, Sabrina Segalov, licensing manager at Sanrio, which owns the Hello Kitty property said: “With stationery playing such a big part in Hello Kitty’s history, we are delighted to be working with Paperchase, who have executed such a comprehensive range of excellent product.”
Paperchase has also launched a small range of ‘lazy egg’ (Gudetama) products in collaboration with Sanrio, after this being a successful character in Japan.
Another licence that Paperchase is currently backing is Emoji.
To tie in with the launch of its range of Emoji products, the retailer has launched a competition offering the chance to win a private screening of The Emoji Movie, for the winner and their 10 friends. The competition, which is running online (www.paperchase.co.uk/emoji-comp) asks entrants what character from the Emoji Movie they would be and why.
