Noel Tatt wraps up bags and tissue

Publisher turns top card designs into first giftbag range at customers’ request

The Noel Tatt team has just wrapped up a very exciting project – the launch of its inaugural giftwrappings collection, with gift bags and tissue wrap based on some of its bestselling greeting card designs.

The development has come as a result of requests from customers as well as the publisher’s sales team, and sales manager Michael Griffiths said the Kent-based company embarked on the project earlier this year having carried out market research.

“Gift packaging is becoming a very busy sector,” Michael told PG Buzz, “with bags, wrap and tissue now available from numerous sources, from budget to more expensive offers. However, we wanted our collection to look and feel uniquely Noel Tatt!

“For this, it was essential the range would reflect many of our bestselling card ranges and at the same time, stayed true to our core brand values of quality and value for money.”

In addition to its own designs, the new collection also includes three Smudge bags, a brand Noel Tatt licences from Simson Cards in Australia following a connection sparked at PG Live last year. “Smudge is proving popular with our customer on cards so we hope it will also work well on bags too,” said Michael.

The initial collection, available to order shortly, comprises 20 designs featuring embossing and foil across three bag sizes – eight large, eight medium, and four bottle – plus six coordinating colours of tissue. Sustainability has been another major consideration, with all elements being recyclable, including the paper handles, tags, eurohooks, and tissue packaging.

“Starting a brand-new project like this is always a strange mix of exciting and mind-boggling with so many new design ideas to squeeze into a fabulous new format. We had loads to learn but, thankfully, loads of enthusiasm too,” explained Emily Terris, who headed up the seasonal and promotional team’s work with Vicki Edwards.

They had to whittle down a massive selection of designs to a choice few so took inspiration from Noel Tatt favourites and bestsellers to create a collection that has a variety of appeals and is cohesive with the card ranges – and she’s particularly impressed with the quality of the paper handles and recyclability.

Emily added: “We’ve picked out our favourite florals, our sparkliest candles, and a few of our quirky Smudge designs! We were particularly excited that we could finish these with foiling and embossing on both sides of the bags – who doesn’t love an extra bit of sparkle.

“Having seen the pre-production samples, we’re thankful for all the excellent work put in by the studio and by the sales team too, whose expert knowledge and feedback was integral. We’re all so excited for the Gift Bag collection to launch and – keeping our fingers crossed – expand!”
