New artists expand Flame Tree’s portfolio

Debut calendars from Sharee Miller and Lanise Howard appeal to diverse audience

A brace of fresh artists has expanded Flame Tree’s portfolio in the shape of Sharee Miller and Lanise Howard, whose debut 2023 calendars should appeal to a diverse audience.

With her calendar full of inspirational affirmations and gorgeously vivid illustrations, acclaimed illustrator Sharee is already the author of many picture books, including Princess Hair, Don’t Touch My Hair and Michelle’s Garden, and she is currently working on her debut graphic novel series Curlfriends.

Flame Tree’s marketing coordinator Zoe Seabourne revealed: “Her bright and happy characters are created using watercolour, coloured pencil and pen. This wall calendar showcases 12 of her inspirational and motivational digital artworks alongside quotes that promote self-care and empowerment.”

California-based visual artist Lanise’s stunning work won her the Women Painters West Award 2019, and on Flame Tree’s new calendar there are 12 beautiful artworks.

Zoe added: “Lanise’s portraits investigate not only the esoteric and ancient belief systems, the digital world and censorship, but also the hidden histories and her experience as a woman of colour. She works with the goal to transport her viewer to different spaces and a new world of new possibility and rewritten histories.”

The calendars are available to order from Flame Tree now, with delivery due in the early autumn.
