Indie retailers all set to shout about their fabulous stores in Instagram
Saturday sees the start of this year’s annual #MyShopLife Instagram challenge when indie retailers can put their wonderful stores in front of their social media fans.
Organised by Sarah Holmes, the passionate founder of indie stationery and greetings store Pencil Me In and homeware and gifts outlet Seasgair in Elgin, it runs from Saturday 20 April, for eight consecutive days.
Sarah said: “It’s is a great way to shout about your shop, meet other shopkeepers, sell and reach a new audience of shoppers who love independent stores,” and she and some of her indie retail pals can be seen in the Instagram reel above explaining just a few elements of life as a shopkeeper to promote #MyShopLife, back for the sixth year running with a new downloadable planner.
Retailers can join the challenge by posting daily photos, stories or reels on Instagram using the hashtag #MyShopLife24. Each day’s prompt is crafted to help shopkeepers highlight their stores and improve their sales techniques – and shopkeepers are also asked to tag in @pencilmeinshop.
“#MyShoplife is not just a typical Instagram challenge,” Sarah added, “it’s a unique opportunity for shopkeepers to showcase their businesses and enhance their sales strategies.
“Each day’s prompt is carefully designed to empower shop owners, providing them with a platform to celebrate their shops and connect more effectively with their customer base.”
