Lucy Ledger Joins GBCC From Paper Rose As Creative Head

The super talented Lucy Ledger is joining the Great British Card Company (GBCC) to become its head of creative. Having run her own greeting card company for several years, two years ago Lucy joined the creative team at Paper Rose.

Of her new role. which she starts tomorrow (February 1), Lucy said: “I’m so excited to be given the opportunity to join The Great British Card Company. I’m looking forward to working with the team to grow the portfolio and develop the brand and product. It’s a company I feel will be a really good fit for me and my creative style, and it has a great legacy to build upon. I’ve always loved greeting cards so I’m just really happy to be taking the next big step of my career in this brilliant industry.”

Paying tribute to her former employer, Lucy told PG Buzz: “I will be forever grateful for the skills and experience I developed during my two years with Paper Rose, not to mention the privilege of working with such a talented and hardworking team.”

Commenting on Lucy’s appointment, David Byk, ceo added: “We are delighted to have Lucy on board who will do a wonderful job, I am in no doubt, in creatively driving GBCC’s own identity.”

As part of her new remit, as well as curating the collections, Lucy will also be generating her own artwork for the GBCC portfolio, also becoming a featured artist.

Clare Twigger, as head of design for both Ling Design and GBCC will continue to drive the creative for Ling Design.

Lucy is not the only new addition to the group, with Ling Design welcoming three new additions to its sales team.

Amber Lintell-Smith has joined Ling Design as the area sales manager for the South West area. Having worked in retail and sales across footwear, tobacco and confectionery, Amber then joined Carte Blanche, which gave her “a great insight to the lovely card and gift industry. The main thing I love is the customers, everyone is lovely, such a great industry!”

Amber also has a first hand connection with cards, as she started making her own during lockdown, upcycling Amazon boxes.

“It became a great way to pass the time and I loved seeing peoples face when receiving them and so my interest for greeting cards grew,” said Amber. “I am really looking forward to my career with Ling Design and excited for the future,” she added.

Carolyn Fox has also recently become part of the Ling sales team, having joined from Xpressions Gifts 4 U.

Nina Hind is another relative newbie to the team, who joined Ling Design to cover the East Midlands/East Anglia areas.

Having started her career in retail management Nina then moved into the cosmetics and fragrance industry.

“To further my career, I then had the opportunity to become an area sales manager in the gift and home fragrance sector, before joining Ling Design in my current role,” explained Nina.

GBCC and Ling Design will be in prime position at the Spring Fair, which starts this coming Sunday (February 6-9) at Birmingham’s NEC. Ling Design stand is right at the front of Hall 3 L10/M11 with the GBCC one just behind on Stand L20/M21.
