Fresh from exhibiting at Home & Gift in Harrogate two weeks ago, Wrendale Designs’ founder and creative director Hannah Dale took time out of her schedule to speak to a group of 13-14 year olds at a school in Lincolnshire.

Hannah, who started her own award winning company back in 2012 explained the rationale behind what prompted her to talk to the youngsters: “The school’s head feels that girls in particular lack confidence in terms of pursuing a creative career, and I was asked to talk to them about how to set up and run a successful business in the creative arts in terms of the challenges I faced six years ago when starting out six years ago, and the importance of being resilient.”

Among the wisdom that Hannah imparted was “not to be put off by negativity and negative comments”. As she told the school children: “It is very much about not being deterred if you have an idea or career path that you want to follow, and about having a real belief in what you want to do.”
