UKG continues on its promotional drive with independents, with the winner of its second £500 Golden Ticket announced earlier this week. Kirsty Brooks, owner of The Guisborough Bookshop in Guisborough, North Yorkshire was the lucky finder of the Golden Ticket in her May UKG order.
“We were really surprised when our works experience student revealed the golden ticket and asked what it was for,” said Kirsty. “Usually we are the ones congratulating others on their luck, so thank you UKG!”
Kirsty has decided to spend her £500 Golden Ticket on UKG’s new Kindred range after seeing it at PG Live earlier this month. “We have ordered from the new Kindred range as it is a completely new and different look for UKG. We are massive fans of their products and think it fills a gap within their portfolio – there is something for everyone within the range.”
The Golden Ticket is just one of many initiatives UKG is introducing as part of an ongoing commitment to supporting independent retailers. Darren Cave, director of independent field sales explains the reason behind these new initiatives: “The independent sector is really important to UKG so we decided to launch a range of promotions which are a little different with the aim of reinforcing just how much our Independent customers mean to us.”
There are two UKG Golden Tickets left to win – one for June and one for July.
- Having won The Retas award last year for being Best Independent Bookstore Retailer of Greeting Cards, The Guisborough Bookshop is in the running again for this year’s Retas Awards. The Retas are held on Wednesday 11 July at the Dorchester Hotel, London. There are still a few tickets left – see the Retas website for more information.
