Giftware Association launches annual product competition
It’s all systems go for Gift Of The Year Awards 2024, with the Giftware Association’s annual competition officially open for entries.
“We have no doubt this year’s competition will be brimming with amazing products and, to match them, we have a very impressive line-up of judges with products guaranteed to be seen by buyers, retailers and the trade media who all make up the judging panel,” said The GA’s pr and marketing manager Chris Workman.
“There will be 20 categories this year, to include a new Wellbeing category which has been requested over the years. We’re bringing back Pet Gifts too, as there are a lot of companies who want to enter products into this category.”
The 2024 competition also includes Cards, Wrap & Stationery which earned the overall 2023 Judges’ Choice title for category winner Fabulously Flat Paper Pens by If, while Little Green Paper Shop had two highly commended ranges with its Eco Plantable Seed Paper Crackers and Calendar, along with Crumble & Core’s Boxed Sterling Silver Jewellery Greeting Cards, Vent For Change’s Refillable & Recycled Weekly Planners, and the Nebula Giftwrap from Wendy Bell Designs.
Once all entries are received by the November closing date, there will be two rounds of judging, with a whole raft of retailers and industry experts drafted in for the online opening session in December, from which the shortlisted products will be drawn up for release in January.
Then in February there will be the in-person judging round at Spring Fair to pick the finalists, and the winners will be announced at The Gift Awards at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel on 16 May, 2024, alongside the winners of The Greats Awards for gift retailers, which are organised by Max Publishing.
And there’s a free exhibition stand at Autumn Fair 2024 for the overall Judges’ Choice winner plus a week’s free pop-up shop inside a John Lewis branch among the prizes.
At every stage of the competition entrants will receive promotional marketing material to boost their brand, as well as ways for companies to fanfare their achievements. All entrants will also be able to feature a GOTY Nominated logo.
