Woodmansterne md presents £11,000 charity cash to Greenfingers
The latest trade show has left Woodmansterne particularly gleeful after a very good outing at Glee 2023, meeting friends and customers from the garden industry.
And the visit to the international festival for garden, leisure and pet at Birmingham’s NEC last week was crowned by the presentation of a cheque for £11,000 to the Greenfingers charity which creates magical outdoor spaces for children in hospices.
MD Seth Woodmansterne handed over the money which had been collected from a mix of product sales of the publisher’s Greenfingers card range, and the team’s fundraising mix of bake sales, sponsored walks, and raffles.
Ten of Woody’s staff members walked 10 miles each on Greenfingers’ annual Garden Re-Leaf Day – aimed at kickstarting the gardening season – on 24 March, while others were baking up a storm at its Watford and Milton Keynes sites, and taking the event’s total since it began in 2012 to well over £800,000 raised.
Linda Petrons, director of fundraising and communications at Greenfingers, said: “Woodmansterne are such a joy to work with and we are really pleased to receive this cheque. It will make a huge difference.”
The charity is dedicated to supporting children who spend time in hospices around the UK, aiming to create inspiring and well-designed gardens for play and fun as well as therapeutic rest and relaxation.
Woodmansterne’s head of marketing Kate Leach told PG Buzz: “We were delighted to be back at a favourite trade show meeting our friends and customers from the garden industry on our gorgeous new Emma Bridgewater-themed stand, where people could have a coffee and chat all things greetings cards.
“Glee was manic! The show was fantastic for us, so all the hard work paid off.”
Woodmansterne’s stand showed off its WSelect side along with its licensed ranges including brands Emma Bridgewater, National Trust, Stephanie Dyment, RSPB, Quentin Blake, Country Life, Punch, Sanderson, and Ashmolean Museum Oxford, as well as Greenfingers.
