10 fab prizes up for grabs thanks to generous sponsors at Thursday’s Henries Awards
Are you ready to rock ’n’ raffle? There’s just a couple of days to go before the greetings industry’s big night when host Patrick Kielty will be revealing the Henries Award winners.
And the joint will be jumpin’ to the 50s theme with the great and the good from publishers, retailers and suppliers all set to enjoy crooner Gary Williams over dinner, DJ Freight Train spinning rockin’ good classics and contemporary tunes til the wee hours, the casino and air tattoo artists – and the chance to win 10 fabulous prizes generously donated by industry sponsors for the big raffle.
Raffle tickets at the glitzy party on Thursday, 6 October, at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel, are just £10 for three or £20 for six, and this year the monies raised will be split between the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) and industrywide registered charity The Light Fund, which has raised over £2million since its inception in 2004 to fund 200-plus charity projects across the world helping less-fortunate men, women and children.
Comedian and TV personality Patrick is all geared up for his second stint at The Henries, having hosted the Oscars of the greetings world 12 years ago – the list of who’s been shortlisted as 2022 finalists can be found here, with the Best Service To The Independent Retailer finalists revealed here.
The Henries wouldn’t be what it is without all the generous sponsors, including Alpha Colour Printers, Card Factory, Carte Blanche Greetings, Duplo, EBB, Fedrigoni, FujiFilm, G.F Smith, GCA, Gould Paper, Graphite Creative, Hallmark, Herbert Walkers, House of Cards, LB Warehousing, Ling Design/GBCC, Loxleys, PG Live, Postmark, Scribbler, Sherwood Group, Simon Elvin, Skeet Print, Skylight Media, Spring/Autumn Fair, The Art File, The Imaging Centre, UK Envelopes, UK Greetings, Windles Group and Woodmansterne Publications.
“It’s a privilege and an honour to be able to contribute and be a part of the Henries’ Awards,” Windles business development and marketing manager Michelle Mills told PG Buzz. “The event brings together generations of people involved in greetings cards and we love being part of an incredible community, being able to support and contribute.
“We have plenty of rock ’n’ roll news that’s enough to make even Elvis’ hips gyrate – it’s viva Las Windles with six new machines, 13 new people, one wedding, two new babies and another on the way, 10 new trees, three new solar panels, two new electric cars, a new record on zero waste, and even more passion and care about what we do. Windles are definitely a rockin’-and-a rollin’!”
Along with the hundreds of publishers set to enjoy the party, plenty of retailers are getting ready to rock including casino sponsors House of Cards as well as Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Tesco, WHSmith, Postmark, Card Factory, Cardgains, Fortnum & Mason, Clintons, Scribbler, and John Lewis. And you can check out what’s going on in the special Henries brochure which can be read online here.
For anyone who’s a latecomer to the party, there are a few last-minute tickets available to join in and celebrate the greetings industry’s creative excellence and great sense of camaraderie with the box office closing tomorrow, Wednesday, 5 October, at noon – click here to grab one.
