GBCC to show at Widdop and Co’s January Show

Leading family-owned company gift company, Widdop and Co attracts hoards of retailers to its January Show that it holds at its impressive North East Manchester showrooms.

However, in 2018, the event is set to go up another two gears, as The Great British Card Company (GBCC) and Xystos are set to join Widdop in further broadening the offering for retailers.

The event will runs from Tuesday 2 January to Wednesday 24 January though GBCC and Xystos will only be showing during the first half of the show (from 2 -12 January).

The showrooms will also be open at the weekend of Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 January by appointment only.

Kick-starting the buying season, Widdop and Xystos will be showcasing their new respective Spring/Summer launches while GBCC will be launching its 2018 Christmas Card collections, backed up with exclusive promotions.

Widdop’s arrangement with GBCC is one in a long line of connections with the greeting card industry, including through licensing agreements with several card brands (including Paper Salad, Wendy Jones-Blackett and Pigment) as well as having become a card publisher under its own stead with inaugural card ranges under its Amore and Bambino brands having launched in the summer.

As Stephen Illingworth, director of product development for Widdop and Co, explained about the plans for the 2018 show: “We are offering a bigger and better buying opportunity for all retailers with our partnerships. The show will offer the ultimate buying experience with hundreds of inspiring gifts and greeting cards across all of our unique brands.”
