The winners of The Retas 2018 greeting card retailing awards will be unveiled at The Dorchester Hotel in London’s Park Lane at a lavish event tomorrow afternoon attended by over 400 leading retailing stars and talented players from the publishing arena.

Then, only a few hours after The Retas awards event draws to an official close, all eyes will be on the England team as they battle for a place in the history books, in the semi-final World Cup match against Croatia.

This year The Retas is on an Into the Blue oceanic theme – here’s hoping England can ‘net’ some goals on the same day as the awards event.

As Warren Lomax, joint md of Progressive Greetings (which owns The Retas) quipped: “No one can deny that it has been incredibly tough on the greeting card retailing pitch, so it will be fantastic to present trophies to those who really are top of the greeting card retailing league.”

Giving assurances that The Retas will not run into “extra time” with the event officially finishing at 4pm with many likely to head to the nearby pub, The Audley to watch the match, with a downstairs bar (with screens for watching the football) booked out exclusively for the use of Retas attendees.

“It would just be a perfect day if the feeling of triumph from The Retas was replicated in the evening,” he added.
