Indie Jo McBeath launches Chirpy products in breast cancer fundraiser
Indie retailer Jo McBeath has been putting out the feelers in her ongoing breast cancer fundraising – launching bespoke products at Chirpy in Chapel Allerton.
With 20% of sales from the two designs of tea towels and cards going to CoppaFeel!, Jo is aiming to boost her total for taking part in the breast cancer awareness charity’s 26-mile one-day trek in September.
“It’s not quite the Himalayan trek I applied for but the Peak District will have to do!” Jo laughed, and she needs to raise £250 to take part in the event on 14 September, where she’s determined to complete the full marathon distance, although there is also a half-marathon option.
Jo, who has navigated her own breast cancer journey, donated over £1,000 last year to sponsor a Breast Cancer Now nurse for a year “thanks to the great generosity of our customers”, and she’s expanded her fundraising efforts this with the bespoke Chirpy products launch.
Local Leeds artist Sarah Thornton has designed a unique Chirpy bird which is featured on the two 100% cotton tea towels, which are printed in the UK, as well as on the pair of blank card designs, and can be bought in the shop or from Jo’s online store.
“Every year we raise money for a breast cancer charity,” Jo added, “and the products are part of my fundraising for CoppaFeel! raising awareness of breast cancer, especially in young people.
“They’re perfect gifts, additions to your own kitchen and a great way to help me raise as many £££s as possible!”
