Fair fun bubbles over

Retailers love the lucky dip prizes at Cath Tate Cards

All the fun of the fair kicked in for a slew of retailers who were bubbling over after they picked up some great prizes from Cath Tate Cards.

The publisher was celebrating getting into trade fair mode with a special lucky dip on its stand at Top Drawer last week where any retailer could have a go, with prizes including a bottle of bubbly, money off orders, and a free lunch at the show.

Holly Williams, of Tokenhouse in Nottingham, was delighted with a £50 voucher towards an order: “We always sell Cath Tate Cards well but the win allowed me to trial the new notebooks. I’ve been looking for some new stationery for the shop and they’re great.

“I enjoyed the show. It helps me feel inspired for the year ahead when January can feel a bit low after the buzz of Christmas has gone.”

And there was a 10% discount for Mary Singleton-Jones, of St Albans’ Panda Cards: “I found Top Drawer very buzzy when I arrived on the Monday. I made a very excitable entrance on to the Cath Tate stand. I started choosing my much-needed cards to grace Panda Cards.

“I was asked to have turn with the Lucky Dip and, to my joy, picked out a 10% discount off my order – I told the girls ‘well, now I can even more of these fabulous cards’!

“It was a great day placing orders, catching up with suppliers and feasting on all the delightful sights.”

Cath Tate is a new supplier for Stationery Supplies’ Sarah Laker, who opened two accounts, one for each of her shops in Marple and Wilmslow.

“I ordered the lovely new notebooks, which I think are fab,” she said, “great colours and I especially love The Collected Works titles. I’d also seen the new children’s age range on their socials and so ordered that for both shops too as it’s so eye-catching.

“I’ve been looking at Cath Tate Cards for a few trade shows now, so the 10% gave me the nudge to place the orders. I’m looking forward to seeing what my customers think of both the notebooks and the cards – I think they’ll love them!”

And for bubbly winners Sally Matson and Karen West, the trip from Red Card in Petworth to London’s Kensington Olympia for the show was worth all the train travel hassles. Sally said: “We loved our bottle of champagne! We thought it was a good show and loved the new notebooks too!”
