Clare Twigger has joined Ling Design as the company’s head of design.
The appointment has been made as a result of Rebecca (Beccy) McCulloch’s decision to relinquish her position as product and creative director of the company in order to return to her own illustration and surface pattern design roots.
With a background that includes Hallmark, Tigerprint, IG and most recently WHSmith, Clare is brings a wealth of great experience to the organisation, as well as a natural instinct for greeting card design.
Clare told PG Buzz: “I feel proud to have joined such a well-respected and trusted company which holds true provenance with its customers. My aim is to foster continued creative development and innovation through the various brands and create leading customer centric design with my talented and passionate teams!”
Clare will head up the creative direction of Ling Design, Talking Pictures, Saffron and The Curious Inksmith ranges.
Clare takes over Ling’s top creative seat from Beccy, whose connections with the brand way back to 1997 when she started as an illustrator with the publisher. Having left in 2004, she returned 10 years later as product and creative director.
Beccy is now looking forward to working freelance and having time to spend on her own creative outpourings. “I am really delighted to begin this inspiring new stage in my life. Over the last five years I have worked hard to get the Ling portfolio into a good place, but I have really missed designing, “ she confessed. “It feels like the right time for me to explore the new. My return to illustration and surface pattern means that for me, there are really exciting times ahead,” Beccy added.
Ling Design has launched over 160 new designs this month (October) alone, that are available to pre-order for January.
This bumper release spans both Ling Design and Talking Pictures.
