Paper Mirchi supports Woodland Trust and helps Barnado’s fundraising with old stock
Partnering with Woodland Trust and Barnado’s are just two ways Paper Mirchi is giving back to help both others and the environment.
Owner Rani Moochhala already produces her wrap and cards completely tree-free, with all products made from 100% recycled cotton, and she’s now donating end-of-line, out-of-season, samples, and damaged but usable stock to the UK’s largest children’s charity Barnardo’s for its stores.
“The donation helps us to reduce our business waste, encourages recycling and avoids the use of landfill while, importantly, helping to raise vital funds for Barnardo’s which helps maintain and develop its wide range of children’s services,” Rani said.
“Stock saved from landfill was approximately £3,000 at trade value, around 2,307 units in total, and they sell it 60% below the RRP so total sales for the charity is about £4,844, which is great.”
Rani has also just signed up for an annual membership with Woodland Trust which contributes to its work protecting, restoring, and creating woodland across the UK, helping plant trees in areas where they’re most needed.
She added: “We care significantly about the planet and its people and the impact we have on it and each other. We pride ourselves on our product on being completely tree free, made from 100% recycled cotton.
“However, we are aware that, while we strive every day to make all aspects of our business 100% eco-friendly, the reality at times can be challenging and therefore it’s our responsibility as a growing greeting cards and gift wrap brand, to offset this where we can. Joining with Woodland Trust and Barnardo’s supports us with this mission.”
