Danilo Experiments With Limited Edition Calendars For Mickey’s 90th

4A. Mickey Limited Edition coverDanilo’s latest initiative will change perceptions of wall calendars, elevating them very much as collectable art.

The publisher’s inaugural limited edition/collectable calendar is a Mickey Mouse 90th Anniversary title. In keeping with Mickey’s milestone, Danilo is limiting production to just 90 copies, all of which are numbered and shipped with certificates of authenticity.

The ‘number 1’ of 90 is to be auctioned on ebay next week with all the proceeds being donated to GOSH (Great Ormond Street Hospital).

Explaining the rationale behind this product development, Brett Smith, sales director of Danilo said: “After visiting Comi Con [comic festival] and Games Con [gaming festival] we identified a huge desire for passionate fans of a brand to have collectable and limited edition items of their favorite properties, which extends into calendars.”

The calendars will initially only be available on Danilo.com, costing £25 each, however Brett told PG Buzz that “as we move forward we will partner with a retailer with a range for instore.”

The whole calendar is limited edition (not just the cover). Printed on very high quality board the limited edition calendars are being shipped in an impressive black envelope.

Last week saw Danilo win four awards in The Calies 2018 calendar awards. These were Best Animal Kingdom Calendar for its BBC Blue Planet II; Best Music, Talent or Sports Calendar for its David Bowie Collectors Edition; Best Entertainment or Humorous Calendar for its Star Wars Deluxe Calendar and Best Desk Calendar for its Rick and Morty Magic Cube.
