Brand refresh for 35 years of Hallmark’s popular companions
Hallmark’s Country Companions cute brand is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a total refresh which was unveiled at PG Live last week.
The specialist greeting card trade show was the first outing for the new artworks featuring the delightful country animals, which were first introduced in 1989.
“We’ve given it a whole new look as it’s 35 years old this year,” Holly Ismail, Hallmark’s head of properties, licensing and innovation, told PG Buzz.
“We’ve kept the essence of the brand so it’s still really cute, but with a new textured board and male and female captions with some special occasions and open birthdays.
“There’s a wide range of characters and we’ve refreshed the artwork that we already have in our archive, tinkered with it to bring it up to date.
“It’s been very popular at the show as it’s brand new, this is the first time it’s been seen in public, we’ve had some lovely feedback over the two days and we have high hopes for it.”
And the refresh was given the thumbs-up by Jim Shay, executive vice-president and chief financial officer of Hallmark Cards, who flew over from Kansas City to visit PG Live and meet with Graeme Karavis, group md of Hallmark UKI & ANZ, and other colleagues.
