Natural Partners signs up Sabivo Design’s nature-inspired Fly range
Chatting at trade shows is a great way to make connections and that’s how Natural Partners got hold of its latest licensing partnership with Sabivo Design.
The publisher has taken the nature-inspired Fly range from Sabivo’s owner and designer Sabina Kovacheva, adding her hand-drawn mixed media birds, bees and floral illustrations to its wide art card collection.
“We’ve been aware for some time that our portfolio lacked a range of occasions cards,” Natural Partners owner Joe Cole told PG Buzz, “so I was delighted when, during a conversation with Sabina at Autumn Fair last year, she asked if we’d be interested in publishing a range she was no longer offering.
“I’ve been a big fan of her designs since she had a stand near us at a show quite a few years ago, so I was delighted to take up her offer as our customers should be attracted by her beautiful artwork.
“We displayed them for the first time at Home & Gift in Harrogate and the reaction to them was very encouraging, so we can’t wait to see how they go down at Autumn Fair!”
Sabina said Fly had been a cornerstone of her offer and was very popular both in the UK and with her overseas distributors, and Natural Partners now has all 56 designs covering open birthdays and occasions.
She added: “Joe was thrilled to hear the range was retired after several years of good service, so he’ll have the exclusive freedom to show it to his customers now. I’m happy because he’s given it another life, which every successful range deserves to have. Joe’s customers are totally new for me so I’m excited to see how the range will be received.
“I love how he has reimagined it on a textured board and wrapped the cards in fern green envelopes, and the artist’s bio on the back is an appreciation of their work that I have always valued.”
While this is Sabina’s first tie-up with Natural Partners, it’s not her first venture into licensing as she has long-term collaborations with two other partners and “another very exciting project in the pipeline”!
