Trio of openings in 10 days breaks retailer’s record as it announces Cancer Research UK link
As Cards Direct broke its own record by pulling off three brand-new store openings in 10 days, the expanding value greeting card retailer has also announced a charity partnership with Cancer Research UK.
Bristol, Bognor Regis and Fareham are each now home to a Cards Direct outlet as the Hemel Hempstead-headquartered independent retailer hit the 55-shop mark in October, with its estate reaching from Kings Lynn and Lowestoft in the east, across to Wolverhampton and Solihull in the Midlands, and down to the south coast and Kent, having also opened in Bury St Edmunds in September.
The company, which also sells its made in Britain products online, announced: “Three openings in 10 days – a new record for our business! A fantastic effort and big thank you to everyone involved in getting these stores open. We welcome new colleagues and look forward to making the people of Bristol, Bognor Regis and Fareham smile!”
And the partnership with Cancer Research UK has also been unveiled as Cards Direct aims to raise funds to “support thousands of scientists, doctors and nurses to find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, bringing hope to millions of people, now and for future generations”.
The retailer, which broke into the top 100 Most Loved Retail Brands league table for the first time in the 2023 Savanta BrandVue poll, will be revealing more about the charity tie-up shortly.
