Greetings companies feature heavily on Gift Of The Year judges’ radar
Retailers and buyers have made their choices and the 2024 Gift Of The Year shortlist has been unveiled – with greeting card companies featuring heavily.
In addition to the 14 shortlisted contenders picked for the Card, Wrap & Stationery category there are 19 others scattered through the 20 award categories. Fox Under the Moon takes top spot with four nominations, while Wrendale Designs and Insync Games appear three times each and it’s twice apiece for Belly Button Designs and Dotty About Braille.
Other well-known greeting card companies in the running include Wendy Jones-Blackett, Little Dog Laughed, Lola Design, Rosie Made A Thing, Ohh Deer, Alljoy Design and Nicole Elders.
GOTY is organised by the Giftware Association which announced the shortlist yesterday, 4 January, following the online judging by the panel of retailers and industry experts, picked for exceptional quality, design, and a true understanding of market trends.
“It’s a job that gets harder and harder each year for our judges as more and more innovative and design led products enter,” sad the GA’s pr and marketing manager Chris Workman. “To make it through this far is such an achievement but, even just by entering, your products would have been seen by over 100 industry judges.”
The shortlisted products now go through to the second round, an in-person judging session at Spring Fair, which runs over Sunday to Wednesday, 4-7 February, at Birmingham’s NEC be judged for the second time round in person, where they will be on display throughout the show for the judges to fully review the brands, as well as being viewed by visitors and exhibitors.
