“The focus is on paper products such as greeting cards and postcards, notebooks, calendars and wrapping paper. In addition, there are fine writing instruments and office supplies, design-oriented gifts, personal accessories and selected home decoration. Books are also part of the collection – to the extent that a concept store could also offer them”.

“In 2023, we will present a special kind of pop-up store that reflects the merging lifestyles of consumers. The result is a refreshing mix of stationery, gifts, accessories, literature and vintage,” added curator Angelika Niestrath.

A virtual showroom for Ms Paper & Friends is already online with selected offers from the product groups Urban Gifts & Stationery, Gift Ideas & School and Interior Design, in nine themes – Stylish Giving, Pure Beauty, Luminous Objects, Art Meets Paper, Ingenious Packaging, Express Yourself, Desk Love, Writing Day By Day and Autumnal Highlights.

These themes take inspiration from the trio of 2023 trends that have been identified by designers Claudia Herke, Cem Bora and Annetta Palmisano, from the design studio Bora.herke.palmisano, which they will present for Ambiente and co-located international trade fair for seasonal and festive decorations Christmasworld twice a day during the five-day events.

More than ever before, the focus is on sustainability and new creations, with outstanding ideas inspired by nature, and he three trends are:

Unknown beauty – strange + gracious

This focus on the unexpected has extravagant colours such as azure blue, peach, magenta or wine red alternate with lovely, gentle nuances in sky, lemon, grey and silver.

Calming nature – careful + pleasant

Calm vitality and nature-loving minimalism, has a colour palette starting with three cooler shades – inspired by lichen, mountain lake and raw malachite. This is followed by neutral gradations from white sand to stone grey and dark rock. Three warm tones like moss, a woody rose tone and a mild rosé nuance complete the natural colour harmony.

Lasting ideas – passionate + evocative

Decorations with a clear design statement see intensive colouring that refines the objects. Petrol and blue nuances dominate the cool range, while orange-red, violet and ochre set warm colour accents. In between, the neutral, metallic tones of pewter, iron and bronze-grey mediate.

Running from Friday to Tuesday, 3-7 February, tickets can be booked for Ambiente and Christmasworld, and there is also hobby, craft, and artists’ supplies event Creativeworld which starts a day later.
