A Long Hot Summer Ahead…And PG’s June Edition Has Landed

While yesterday marked the Summer Solistice, there is hopefully a long sunny summer ahead for all of us – and what’s more the June edition of Progressive Greetings magazine is out now filled with hot news, views and product launches galore.

With the whole industry cranking back to joyful normality the news section (click to pages 8-9) is filled with everything from UKG’s massive sustainability commitment and Lola Design’s collab with ZSL to the GCA’s meeting with government minister Paul Scully and The Art File’s new wall art sibling.

As ever PG columnists have a lot to say. While Cardsharp notes that while the industry is rich on so many counts, there are no longer the ‘high rollers’ to make it into the Sunday Times Rich List. (Click to 24-25)

While retailing remains tough, there have been plenty of whoops of joy in many quarters as the finalists of The Retas retail awards 2021 were announced (Click to pages 20-21) with some finalists sharing their joy. (Click to pages 26-27).

Sticking with retailers, following on from PG’s road trip to some of the UK’s holiday hotspots in the last addition, another batch of card retailers located in prime staycationing locations share how they are all gearing up to make the most of the daytrippers and holidaymakers. In PG’s popular What’s Hot? section, a quad of card retailers reveal what ranges are going down well with their customers (Click to pages 54-55), while publishers are keen to share their latest new launches in the Innovations section (Click to pages 30-31) in the hope that they could become the next best sellers.

One publisher that has now notched up a decade of great selling ranges with a service to boot is Words ‘n’ Wishes. Joint managing director Rod Brown looks back and forwards on the company’s first ten years. (Click to 42-43).
