Joy is unconfined!

More celebrations from The Henries 2024 Awards finalists

Unfiltered moments of joy aren’t often captured on video – but for Fox Under The Moon’s Stacey McNeill that’s what husband Jamie managed as he revealed she was a Henries’ finalist.

Stacey, who can be seen in the video below, was rather chuffed to add her first Henries nomination, for Best Contemporary Words & Sentiments Range, to the second Gift Of The Year People’s Choice win in a row.

“It’s a brilliantly unfiltered moment of joy from when Jamie told me we’ve made the finals in The Henries Awards for Our One Step At A Time range,” Stacey said, “in case you can’t tell, I’m rather excited! A massive well done to everyone else that got through too – we’ll see you on the night!”

Stacey’s celebrations are among the latest following the announcements of the 2024 Henries finalists and Best Service To The Independent Retailer shortlist a few days ago.

And it’s just as big a deal for the larger publishers, as Hallmark’s Holly Ismail, head of properties, licensing and innovation – who can be seen in the video below – admitted: “We’re incredibly excited to be a finalist in The Henries 2024 awards for the Best Licensed Entertainment Or Character Card Range with our beautiful, nostalgic Peter Rabbit collection.

“Our partnership with Penguin for this collection began just this year and, following a successful launch within the market, we are very proud to be nominated within this category.”

Another newbie is bestselling children’s book illustrator Sharon King-Chai, who made the move into greeting cards only this year and told PG Buzz: “I am utterly delighted to be a finalist in my first-ever Henries!

“My husband in particular is tickled pink by the fact that I’m in the Best Male Range. A big heartfelt thank you to all the judges and organisers who make this wonderful event happen.”

At Raspberry Blossom finding out the publisher was in the finals for Best Contemporary Trend Range was an icing on the cake moment for co-owners Rebecca and Mark Green: “Mark and I were having a few days off to celebrate a big family wedding for his sister when we found out we are Henries finalists!

“We are so over the moon to be in the finals among so many incredible publishers in the greeting card industry. We want to say the biggest thank you to all the amazing buyers, and shops that took the time out of their busy schedules to attend the in-person judging day!”

Laura Darrington laughed: “Henry Ford, Henry Winkler, Henry VIII, Henry the Hoover…Henry nominee! Proper chuffed that our latest male range has been nominated for a prestigious Henries award, basically the Oscars of the greeting card world, and something that makes us very warm and fuzzy inside.”

For Stop The Clock’s Kathy Harrington, who co-founded the business with Erin James, the belated celebrations are down to holidays: “Woooohoooooo! I’ve just returned from holiday to assemble the troops and capture Team Stop The Clock’s very belated smiles and waheys after finding out we’ve been nominated for two Henries Awards!

“Erin is still away so paper Erin will have to do – but I imagine that’s how happy her face would be in finding out the news! It is always super flattering to find out that our designs have made it into the mix for the award. Thank you to all the judges. We can’t wait for the do in October!”

Roger La Borde’s Tri-fold cards made it through in the Best Christmas Box Or Pack category out of the 313 publishers who entered the awards this year, and Helena Maratheftis said: “Yippee! It’s an honour to be among the small pool of finalists, and we’d like to extend a very big thank you to the judging panel!”
