Cardie hat trick for GOTY People’s Choice

Public back Fox Under The Moon for second year running, and 2025 comp is opened

Fox Under The Moon has made it a hat trick of wins for the greeting card industry in the Gift Of The Year People’s Choice award as the card, gift and book company took the trophy for the second year running.

The result was revealed at Harrogate Home & Gift on Sunday, 21 July, when Stacey McNeill, who runs the business with husband Jamie, was called up to collect the trophy for its One Step At A Time greeting card range.

More than 8,000 members of the public voted, picking their favourite from the whole 2024 GOTY shortlist of 120 products across all 20 categories, and it was such a close-run thing that organiser The Giftware Association decided to award two highly commended prizes too, which went to The Little Dog Laughed and Beevive.

Following the presentation at the popular Sunday Sundowners social, sponsored by PG’s sister publication Progressive Gifts & Home, a stunned Stacey, who can be seen in the reel below finding out she’s won again, said: “We’re honoured to win the People’s Choice Award for the second year running – what a fantastic opportunity for our small business.

“Thanks to our wonderful stockists for your continued support, and our fantastic little team Rachel, @lizeymaydraws and Polly who are there beavering around in the background and keeping us sane – you guys are the backbone of the business, and along with our amazing friends and family, we couldn’t still be going strong without you all.

“I want to share my immense gratitude for each and every one of you beautiful souls that voted for us over the past few weeks – without your continued belief, support, enthusiasm and encouragement, Jamie and I would be nowhere near where we are now with our little foxy venture. You are truly magical individuals.”

Announcing Fox Under The Moon, which had three books on the shortlist inspired by its affirmation greeting cards, as the winner with 12% of the vote, GA ceo Sarah Ward said: “The top three brands fought right up until the closing date of the competition, which led us to the decision to award two highly commended brands for the first time – Beevive and The Little Dog Laughed have been recognised for both achieving almost 8% each of the overall votes.

“The People’s Choice Award is a testament to the power of connection between brands and consumers, and this year, that connection has been stronger than ever. Over 8,000 votes were cast by the public, demonstrating their engagement and enthusiasm in these challenging economic times. It’s a powerful reminder of the value of creating a platform where brands can directly interact with their consumers, and the impact such engagement can have.”

Stacey is the creative force at Fox Under The Moon, drawing inspiration from the beauty of the natural world, capturing the essence of wildlife, woodlands, and magical night skies in her artwork for the collection which delivers inspiring messages of self-love and promotes positive mental health through thoughtful words and gentle illustrations.

The result makes it the third year running that greetings publishers have been the public’s favourite -and the award has only been going for four years!

Prior to Stacey’s double triumph it was Cardology which took the prize, and this year’s highly commended included The Little Dog Laughed, which offers cards, gift bags, stationery and a charity book.

Home & Gift was also the setting for the opening of the 2025 Gift Of The Year awards, which has a number of categories suitable for publishers including the Cards, Wrap & Stationery section; Ethical Gift; Festive & Occasions; and the new Made In The UK.
