Squirreling away award

Digital sticker innovation earns business trophy for AddSquirrel

Jen King has squirrelled away her first business award just a couple of months after launching a second company that complements her greeting card designs.

The owner and creative behind Jen Winnett Art has picked up the trophy in the Innovation category at Cirencester Business Awards for her new company AddSquirrel, which she launched at PG Live just last month.

The awards are run by Cirencester Chamber Of Commerce and Jen’s offer of affordable QR smart stickers that allow people to add digital content by uploading videos, photos or voice notes to personalise greeting cards, was picked to “celebrate the creators and thinkers who drive our local economy forward with their groundbreaking ideas and visionary approaches”.

“What a night!” Jen said. “We were thrilled to be announced the winner – AddSquirrel would not have been possible without our incredible team and I am so grateful for the support. I’m excited to see what the future holds for this exciting product.”

She added that her inspiration came from the desire to make every card and gift personal and memorable.

“Traditional cards and gifts are wonderful, but I wanted to add a dimension of interactivity and personalisation that would make each gift truly unique for a cost that would be accessible to everyone,” Jen said.

The awards ceremony was held at the Royal Agricultural University on 5 July, hosted by BBC Radio Gloucestershire’s Vernon Harwood.
