Cardies to feedback to minister

Two days to complete survey for GCA’s next meeting with government

There’s just a couple of days left to get your views on the greeting card industry and Royal Mail in for the GCA to take right to the heart of government.

Noon on Thursday, 16 May, is the deadline for completing the survey aimed at getting feedback for the next meeting with mp Kevin Hollinrake, minister for enterprise, markets and small business.

The 10-question quarterly heartbeat survey covers the first three months of 2024 and is organised by the Independent Retailers’ Confederation (IRC), whose 20 trade association members include the GCA, with the aim of getting a top-level view of the trading environment.

“At the next meeting with the Minister, this time with our colleagues at IRC, we want to share data he can take away and act on,” GCA ceo Amanda Fergusson said, “so I’m keen to collect as much data as possible.

“We’d like members to complete the survey via our unique GCA link, and add in the comments section (number 11) the importance of Royal Mail to your business, and the impact you are seeing due to poor service levels and prices.”

The survey questions are designed to be simple to answer in a short period of time, and the data obtained is kept strictly confidential, and the results will be communicated to members.

The data will be used to help shape the IRC’s representation of the independent sector and the discussions held with government representatives, local authorities and other industry stakeholders, as well as used by the GCA to support its campaign to keep a reliable and affordable postal service.
