Pup-date on Boofle’s licensing expansion

Hunter Price’s Boo-tiful collab launches the brand on plush, accessories and lifestyle products

A familiar face has joined the Hunter Price International team, as loveable pup Boofle has continued his expansion from UK Greetings’ greeting cards onto other products.

Hunter Price’s Boo-tiful collaboration will see it develop and distribute hero plush, including the heritage knitted pup, and celebration, seasonal and sensory in many sizes and fabrics, bringing Boofle to life in a new category across nursery, play and junior lifestyle products, as well as the company’s speciality of reusable bags.

You can see Boofle on his first day working at Hunter Price in the video below…

“We couldn’t be prouder to bring a little national treasure like Boofle into the Hunter Price family,” said Allana Holmes, Hunter Price’s commercial director. “He’s such a well-known character, one I’m sure has featured in so many of our households over the years.

“Boofle’s appeal spans so many generations, from grandparents to young children, it’s a brand that’s has lovable, nostalgic, and, importantly especially within the gifting space, represents great quality.”

Amazingly, the first Boofle greeting cards collection was created back in 2008 by artist David Blake with his wife Sarah, who spent many years in the greeting card industry and headed up design for UKG’s Hanson White brand.

Over 150million cards Boofle cards have now been bought, with the brand having expanded across many categories through licensing agreements over the years – the loveable pup was the sole focus of UKG’s stand at Brand Licensing Europe 2023, the trade event for brand extension and licensing.

As Sandi Parisi, UKG’s product director, added: “The approach Hunter Price has presented for Boofle has got us very excited. We know first-hand how well loved and popular Boofle is with consumers, and we’ve always believed in the brand’s potential to grow beyond the celebrations category.”
