Top-selling children’s author tells millions of followers about new licensed card collection

Official approval has just come in for Great British Card Company’s brand-new David Walliams licence – as the man himself has revealed his love for the greeting card collection on social media.

The wildly-successful children’s author, comedian and ex-Britain’s Got Talent judge was posting pictures of himself and his dogs yesterday, 29 November, with the “fabulous new cards from GBCC” to his two million followers on Instagram and other platforms telling fans: “I love these!”

The 12 open birthday designs and five age cards from eight to 12, have only just been released, although the deal has been in the making throughout 2023 following the initial contact made at PG Live in 2022.

“We’ve taken our time to plan and produce the perfect collection,” said David Byk, who is ceo of both GBCC and Ling Design, about the collection featuring some of the incredibly popular children’s titles, such as Gangsta Granny, Ratburger, Billionaire Boy and The Boy In The Dress.

And the two Davids got the chance for an informal chat when they happened to bump into each other during their separate family holidays to Disneyland Paris in the recent October half-term – there may even have been a selfie or two taken!

David Byk added: “We had a good chat about the launch and discussed how we’re looking forward to seeing designs in store soon. We’ll be dispatching from December so not long to wait!

“And now he’s posted some lovely pictures with our cards with his dogs. We have really enjoyed working on this collaboration and hope everyone loves the cards as much as we do.”
